Due to a recent safety warning from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), international flights to and from Venezuela have virtually come to a complete standstill.

Many airlines have suspended their routes temporarily, with some suspensions extending into early 2026. Port activities in Venezuela are currently proceeding normally, despite increased U.S. sanctions and the recent seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker.
Based on updates from our correspondents, the advice is to anticipate heightened risks in the area due to both stricter sanctions and direct U.S. military actions. Additionally, the collapse of international flight connections means that regular crew changes and repatriation are currently not possible or extremely difficult in Venezuela. If vessels must enter the area or call at Venezuela out of necessity, we advise members to inquire in advance with their agent about the current situation and to verify any additional requirements from an insurance perspective.
