As of August 20, 2025, Turkish authorities have implemented new regulatory measures impacting vessel and cargo operations involving Israel. The new restrictions mark a significant shift in policy and are expected to directly affect shipping companies, cargo handlers, and logistics operators with business ties to Israel.

The most important of the new restrictions are as follows:
- Vessels that have directly arrived from an Israeli port will not be permitted to enter any Turkish port. Similarly, vessels will not be allowed to depart from Turkey directly to an Israeli port.
- Turkish Authorities will request CSR (Continuous Synopsis Record), ISM (International Safety Management) and information about the ship management as part of pre-arrival procedures. Vessels found to have operational links to Israel may be denied entry to Turkish ports.
- Any cargo related to Israel is excluded from container transshipment or cargo transfer at Turkish ports.
- Israel-related cargo in transit without handling is generally permitted, except for dangerous goods under IMO Class 1 (explosives) and Class 7 (radioactive materials).
Any vessels found to be in breach will be denied access to Turkey and fines may be imposed up to a maximum of USD 12.100. Whilst the authorities have not yet published an official directive for implementation of these restrictions we understand that enforcement has already begun. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as official information becomes available.
