NNPC Marine Insurance has received a Notice of Cancellation from our (re)insurers in respect of certain war risks insured in the commercial market. As a result, we hereby issue a corresponding Notice of Cancellation in respect of those same war risks for all our fixed premium insureds, including all our chartered entries.

With effect from 00:00 hours GMT on 5 March 2026, war risk cover for all fixed premium and chartered entries will be automatically excluded in respect of:
- Iran and Iranian waters, including coastal waters up to 12 nautical miles offshore; and
- Persian/Arabian Gulf and adjacent waters, including the Gulf of Oman and waters west of the line from Oman’s territorial limit off Cape al-Ḥadd at 22°42.5’N, 59°54.5’E northeast to the Iran-Pakistan border at 25°10.5’N, 61°37.5’E.
This Notice does not alter the position of any other area currently restricted or excluded under the respective policies. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
At present, the restriction of cover is limited to fixed premium entries only, however, this may change in the coming days as the situation develops. Our recommendation remains for members to avoid the Persian/Arabian Gulf as much as possible.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact our Underwriting department via underwriting@nnpc-marine.com.
