Team Lead Underwriting

Biography

Role at NNPC
I started at NNPC in 2014 as an underwriter, and have since grown into the role of team leader and senior underwriter. In In that role I am responsible for managing the department and its daily operations. Underwriting is of course a wide term; it‘s a combination of relationship management, policy, administration and monitoring.

What makes the club special?
Where at larger organizations you often have to work within strict boundaries, we actually have the space to develop ourselves in multiple areas. Beyond that, it is highly enjoyable to work for such a varied customer portfolio. The differences between sea and inland shipping, as well as between the mutual members and the insureds, ensure that no two days are alike.

Personal vision
There’s a lot happening in the maritime field, both in the shipping industry and the insurance sector. Sometimes these cases get very complicated and it’s our responsibility to translate these complexities into clear advice and solutions for our members and insured parties. We also see how things are changing and how NNPC Marine Insurance has to adapt as an insurer and service provider. Expanding our range of products and services is a good example of this.
