Last week’s Maritime Awards Gala, held on Monday 3rd of November, was a more than successful evening. As the event’s main sponsor, we loved how it put the passion and innovative energy in the Dutch maritime sector in the spotlights.
First and foremost, we would like to congratulate the organizations, initiatives and individuals who won an award this year. Their accomplishments are nothing less than impressive:
- Maritime Ship of the Year Award: the MY Breakthrough by Royal van Lent/Feadship, the first Twin Azipod hybrid diesel/hydrogen-electric super yacht with over 3 MWh of fuel cell capacity and internal storage
- Maritime Talent Award: Edwin de Hoog, for his experimental research into methods to optimize the transportation process of sand-water mixtures in dredging pipelines
- Maritime Innovation Award: Breman Innovation, who at Eye Catcher developed a remote controlled lifting aid for coupling and decoupling loads without manual intervention
- Maritime Achievement Award: Silvan Floor, teacher nautical studies at Rotterdam Mainport Institute, for his dedication and innovative teaching methods
- Maritime Security Award: Teun van Schriek, for his research at the Royal Navy towards modernizing existing tactics for finding submarines, assisted by AI
You can find detailed information on all the winners on the official site.
After an impressive evening in Rotterdam Ahoy, we gathered for a festive afterparty in the Marriott Rotterdam Hotel. Great conversations, new connections and a delightful way to end the proceedings with our guests. For an impression of the gala itself, scroll down to the photo gallery on this page!
Lastly, we would love to hear your thoughts on the gala. If you were there, could we ask you to fill out this short questionnaire? It will only take a few minutes and we greatly value your opinion.
